At Christ Church, we get that it can be overwhelming to find your place in the world, let alone at church. It can be hard to make friends and even harder to make time for God. We are a group of people sharing life together. This is a safe space to ask questions, wrestle openly, and expect more out of the church.
This ministry is geared towards meeting the array of needs of young adults, ages 18-35, and families, specifically those with children in 6th grade and below. We have regularly scheduled young adult and family events now as well as a college ministry when college students come home during the summer, and offer ongoing support and encouragement.
What we do and why we do it
We believe in building community through time together. This can be at our small groups, by attending and serving together at our weekly services, by attending one of our events, or by connecting with us online.
Opportunities to Connect
Activities- We get together for regular events but also have several impromptu get togethers a month. Get connected to the group via our GroupMe group chat and stay up to date when the group goes out for burgers, a local worship event, and other meet ups. Some of our regular activities include camping, tubing, Kings Dominion, trips to DC, game nights, and Friendsgiving.
Happy Hours- The first Tuesday of every month from 6 until 8 at Chuy’s in Springfield Town Center for happy hour and their free nacho bar. This is a fun and easy way to get to know us and invite friends.
Third Thursdays at LCAC- We help get things in order at the food pantry. They need help sorting food, making meal bags, and bagging rice, diapers, and wipes. Friends are welcome for this fun and important work. Pizza dinner is on us so we can focus on working and enjoying time together as we serve from 6-8pm.

We meet at Ryan and Erika’s house, 9687 South Run Oaks Drive in Fairfax Station.
Tuesday Night College Small Group runs mid May-late August: Time Dinner at 7:00 p.m. Small Group Starting at 8:00 p.m. Every Tuesday. Are you between the ages of 18 and 22? If so, this group is for you. We meet weekly to share a meal, discuss relevant studies, and have some good fellowship. We meet at Ryan and Erika's house.
Christ Church recognizes that there are unique blessings and challenges that come with raising young children. From birth-6thgrade, and beyond, we want to invite you to be a part of our family group at Christ Church. This is an opportunity for you to connect with other Families at church as we seek to grow closer to God and each other as we spend time together, study God’s word, serve together, and support each other through all that comes with being a family.
Opportunities to Connect
The following are the current offerings available to this growing community. Please ask Erika to get connected or to launch a new way to connect:
-Coffee Club that meets monthly in someone’s home in the morning, the day of the week varies
-Wednesdays Adventures as planned by one of our leaders. The time varies and recent adventures have included a trip to Cox Farms, nature outings, museum trips, and nature center visits.
-Regular service times at the LCAC food pantry. The whole family can work together to help get things in order at the food pantry. They need help sorting food, making meal bags, and bagging rice, diapers, and wipes. We typically have youth helpers that help give the kids breaks on the playground next door as needed.
-Time together at the indoor and outdoor playground before and after services and school days is encouraged. This is a great way to meet and catch up with other parents while monitoring your child.
-Fit4Mom will be coming to our church soon, offering fitness classes on Monday and Wednesday mornings that will be led by one of our own church members.
-In the facebook group people are encouraged to share meet up opportunities and prayer requests.
-Greentree, the Kids Ministry, and the church offer a number of other activities and opportunities to connect with and without kids.
Wednesday Nights from 6:30-7:45pm. Dawn Geshiere and Erika Deem partner to bring a relevant discussion to help foster community and help us be the best followers of Christ we can be, especially in relation to our children and spouses.
Yoga For Christ
Friday mornings from 9:15-10:15am in Ignite Room 256. Traci Azato, a certified yoga instructor, is leading. Please bring a yoga mat or towel. Free childcare is provided in our church nursery for children 3 and younger, older children are welcome in yoga during breaks.
There is currently one family home group and we would like to launch one or two more as soon as possible. Please let Erika know if you are interested. There are a variety of options within home groups to meet the needs of the group. The existing group meets every other Friday night for dinner and a study at someone’s house while babysitters take care of the kids on a different level so the adults can have focused time with each other.
