Young Adults

At Christ Church, we get that it can be overwhelming to find your place in the world, let alone at church.  It can be hard to make friends and even harder to make time for God.  We are a group of people sharing life together.  This is a safe space to ask questions, wrestle openly, and expect more out of the church.

This ministry is geared towards meeting the array of needs of young adults, ages 18-35, and young families, those with children in 6th grade and below.  We have regularly scheduled young adult and young family events now and will be launching a college ministry this May when our college students come home and the goal is to keep it running throughout the year to help meet the needs of local college students.

What we do and why we do it

We believe in building community through time together.  This can be at our small groups, by attending and serving together at our weekly services, by attending one of our events, or by connecting with us online.

Events

Second Saturdays- Our goal is to meet on this day every month to get out in the community.  Some of the things we have done in the past include game nights, trips into DC, and assembling care packages for our college students.

Happy Hours- The first Tuesday of every month from 6 until 8 at Chuy’s in Springfield Town Center for happy hour and free nacho bar. This is an opportunity to invite friends and get to know each other outside of church.

Third Thursdays at LCAC- We help get things in order at the food pantry. They need help sorting food, making meal bags, and bagging rice, diapers, and wipes. Friends are welcome for this fun and important work.  Pizza dinner is on us so we can focus on working and enjoying time together as we serve from 6-8pm.

Young Families also meet to serve once a month at LCAC with their kids, typically the last Saturday of the month, but not always.
