At Christ Church we believe that worship is a way of life. Our goal is to offer to Him everything we do each day as an act of worship.

Our Worship Celebrations are designed to be relevant, enjoyable and meaningful. We have a passion for the arts, so music, drama and media are a big part of the way we communicate our love for God.

Here are a few ministry opportunities:

Better known as the Originals, this group of artists, musicians, writers and vocalists gather every other month to share songs, ideas and works in progress to inspire and encourage one another. The Originals songwriters have released 2 compilation CD’s and one full length artist CD since 2002 and are currently working on material for their 3rd compilation CD due out in summer 2008. Frequently you will hear music by our songwriters blended right into the congregational singing as well as for special music on Sunday mornings.

The vocal team is the frontline of the battlefield heading into worship. Serving as a vocal and visual presence in leading the congregation into worship through song, the vocal ministry is made up of vocal teams and a worship choir.

Our vocal teams are for vocalists who have a strong spiritual foundation, learn music quickly and can blend extremely well. These vocalists make up teams, which consist of 1 soprano, 1 alto and 1 tenor and lead worship on Sunday mornings. These teams rotate every other week and commit for a trimester rotation (Jan-May, June-Aug, Sept-Dec).
Auditions for the vocal teams are held 3 times a year usually 3 weeks prior to the start of a new trimester.

Equally with a passion for singing praises to God with less time commitment is our worship choir. Singing once a month, this is a large group intended to display a diversity of worshippers joining to together with one voice in leading the congregation in worship through song. Usually meeting for 2-3 rehearsals prior to a scheduled week to sing.

A vital part of the worship team, the band consists of acoustic and electric guitars, drums, percussion, bass, and keyboards. Performing on a biweekly rotating schedule the band rehearses on Thursday nights from 8-10pm with a Sunday morning sound check at 7:15am. The band assists in leading worship for all 3 services at 8:45, 10 & 11:15am. An intermediate skill level is required.

Also part of the band is our kickin’ horn section. Rotating regularly in the schedule the horns play both as a group and individually as a part of the worship team.
