S.H.A.P.E.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Ephesians 2:10 NLT

What is S.H.A.P.E.?

The concept of S.H.A.P.E. originates from pastors Rick Warren and Erik Rees.  In Erik’s book entitled S.H.A.P.E. - Finding and Fulfilling Your Unique Purpose for Life, he says the following:

You were not created to conform.  You were not created to compare.  You were not created to compete.  You were not created to compromise.  You were created to contribute to God’s kingdom and make a significant difference with your life.

The way we can make the most significant difference is to purposely seek out opportunities where our spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality and experiences all come together.  Then, we have truly found our shape.

This is how Rick and Erik define S.H.A.P.E.:
Spiritual Gifts.  A set of special abilities that God has given you to share his love and serve others.
Heart.  The special passions God has given you so that you can glorify him on earth.
Abilities.  The set of talents that God gave you when you were born, which he also wants you to use to make an impact for him.
Personality.  The special way God wired you to navigate life and fulfill your unique Kingdom Purpose.
Experiences.  Those parts of your past, both positive and painful, which God intends to use in great ways.

S.H.A.P.E. Daily Challenge

For one month, beginning on January 15, we invite you to join us in a church-wide S.H.A.P.E. Challenge.  Every day, we’ll post a scripturally-based task that will only take a few moments to complete.  These tasks have been skillfully written by our own Pastor Tony Arnold, and their goal is to create a habit of daily, purposeful time spent with Christ.  We desire for each of you to be strengthened and empowered to take ownership of your own faith journey.  This has been paired with the current S.H.A.P.E. sermon series because we believe as you spend purposeful time drawing closer to Christ, that he will make His plans and His shape for you even more evident.  You can find the daily challenges below, on our Christ Church app and on our Christ Church Facebook page.

What is the S.H.A.P.E. Assessment?

The S.H.A.P.E. Assessment consists of five categories of questions, each one relating to a letter of the S.H.A.P.E. acronym. This assessment will help you gain a better understanding of how your traits fit together for a specific purpose. Please approach this process prayerfully and take your time answering the questions.

To take the assessment click here and log in to your InFellowship account. After you log in, click on the S.H.A.P.E. logo on the right side of your welcome screen.

After you hit submit on the final page, your results will be emailed to you and a copy will be sent to Leah Zapata, our Director of Serve. Someone from the church will be in touch to help guide you through the next steps of applying these results. Our desire is that you may fully live into your shape, whether it be at church, at home, in the workplace or in the community. We are truly excited that you are embarking on this journey!

We believe the way to make the most significant impact is to purposely seek out opportunities where our spiritual gifts, abilities, personality and experience all come together. Then, we have truly found our shape.
