Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why does Christ Church feel the need to move and grow?
Jesus Christ calls His disciples to go into all of the world and make disciples. For over 12 years Christ Church has been effective in reaching out and making disciples of Jesus Christ through our current location and facilities. However our effectiveness in Christ’s mission is diminishing due to lack of space in our current location. The move to a new campus will provide additional seats for people to join us in worship, additional classrooms for children to learn about Christ’s love and additional spaces for families to park their cars as they participate in the life of the church body.

Q. How do you plan to raise enough funding to pay off our debt and build the new church facilities?
There will be several phases of this journey to our new land and home. First, we have begun this initial Promised Land Campaign. In the next phase we will weigh the various options and revenue potential from selling the current property. With this information we will be in a position to launch the second Capital Fund Campaign to fund any shortfall from sale proceeds and building costs. Over the next few years we will be adjusting our plans based on a cash flow analysis that tracks actual expenses incurred and projected future expenses against actual incoming and pledged revenue.

Q. When will we move into a new building?
We should occupy the new building in the fall/winter of 2011.

Q. Who would buy our current facilities?
The current facility, on 5 acres, could be purchased by another church or private school. There are already several parties interested in purchasing the building.

Q. Will we or can we do any more with our existing land and property as we wait for our new facility to be available?
With our current temporary trailers we have maximized the square footage we are allowed to put on our current land. The goal now is to keep our existing capabilities well maintained. We have also maxed out on our parking spaces.

Q. What are the plans for a school on the new property?
Initially we plan to continue the preschool we currently have. There are certainly many who would like to see additional grades added and as we grow in the new facility this will be studied.

Q. What will we do with the new property while we wait on the design and construction of our new facilities?
We plan on holding periodic Church events there to familiarize everyone with the Promised Land.

Q. How will I connect in a larger Christ Church? Might I get lost?
As Christ Church has grown we have developed and will continue to develop ministries to connect people to the body of Christ and one another. Through developing new discipleship and fellowship groups, Christ Church will continue to be able to connect each church member with people who will nurture his/her spiritual growth. New ministries and staff positions will be developed to provide additional pastoral care and specific ministries for singles, young adults, and other groups within the church. As the flock of Christ Church grows we must be careful that we do not lose any of our sheep.

Q. How can I learn more about optional methods of providing a financial commitment?
We are providing a brochure as part of this Campaign entitled “Creative Strategies For Giving.” This should be very helpful. There are also members of the church who may be able to help give you further advice. Please contact the church office if you would like to meet with someone.

Q. How can my family and I help?
Pray for the Church and its leaders as we discern God’s direction. Prayerfully consider what commitment you can make as a personal sacrifice to Christ and His Church in support of the three year Promised Land Campaign. It will take every one of us to reach our goal.
