Difference Maker

We believe God is calling us to embark on these initiatives over the next two years. We invite you to be a part of this movement of changing lives in our community and around the world as we seek to join Jesus in changing lives! Jesus is the ultimate difference maker and Christ Church wants to join Him in the call to change lives in our community and world.

Please consider how you, too, can be a difference maker as part of this movement in our efforts to advance our impact in His Great Commission (Matthew 28:19–20).

Frequently Asked Questions

How were the initiatives determined? The church leadership comprised of our pastors, church council and senior level staff spent a great deal of time looking at the ways we can live out the vision of the church in bold, new ways. After much prayer, research and discernment, they came to the agreement that these initiatives are where God is calling us for 2017 and 2018. The initiatives tie directly into the vision of the church.

Can I designate my donation to a specific initiative?

We appreciate your generosity and will certainly honor your intentions, but we prefer that you give to support all of the initiatives so the church has the flexibility to implement the plan.

How will we be informed of the progress?

We will regularly update the church community on how the initiatives are developing and where they are impacting lives. Updates will be through our electronic newsletter, testimonies and announcements on Sunday morning as well as periodic updates from senior leadership.

How will new people get a chance to get involved in the initiatives?

Starting in January 2017, Christ Church is initiating the Next Steps class where newcomers to the church are given an opportunity to become partners in the Difference Maker campaign.

What happens if we don't raise enough funds to pay for all of the initiatives?

These initiatives are our goals for all of 2017 and 2018; as such, Pastor John and the church leadership will determine the priority in which we will implement them. We will encourage new people who become part of the Christ Church family to become Difference Maker partners.

What if we raise more funds than needed for the initiatives?

First, praise God! If surplus funds are received, Pastor John and the church leadership will determine how they will be used based on the overall vision of the church. New initiatives may be determined based on available funds.

How can I get involved beyond giving money?

We encourage everyone to get involved as much as possible in contributing their time and talent to helping these initiatives become reality. If you are interested in a specific initiative, email the church at  to find out more. As with all things, we encourage you to pray for God's will to be done.

Can I give financially beyond a cash gift?

Absolutely! Please contact Executive Director Jeff Kimmel at 703.425.3580 for assistance.
