Small Groups

Groups & Classes

Our groups and classes are designed to strengthen fellowship and interpersonal relationships, offering a chance to not only learn from the group studies, but also build relationships with spiritual encouragement, accountability, trust and care.

Do you have questions about life? Are you “in sync with God, but yearning for a deeper relationship with Him” or is your spiritual state “solid, but lacking passion”? Are you simply new to the area or Christ Church and don’t know what small group to join? Do you need a safe place to ask questions about God that you’ve been afraid to ask? If you said “yes” to any of these, then perhaps Alpha is for you.

What is Alpha? Alpha means beginning. Maybe it’s the beginning of a relationship with Jesus or a more passionate relationship with Him than you already have. Maybe it’s the beginning of meaningful connections within the church or feeling equipped to help others grow in their faith. It’s a safe place to ask those questions about God that you’ve been afraid to ask your neighbors or even your friends on Sunday. What will Alpha be the beginning of for you?

The Apostle Paul used the Greek word Teleios to refer to the goal of Christian discipleship, that the Body of Christ would become mature and complete. But how do we get there?

You often hear that we grow in faith by encountering God in our study of scripture, but maybe you've found it difficult to do. How do we start? What questions do we ask of the text? How do we make it practical so what we learn influences us?

At Christ Church, we know that scripture is the number one catalyst that enables us to grow in our faith. Rick Warren wrote how "the Spirit of God uses the Word of God to make us like the Son of God." But how do we read scripture in such a way that it comes to life for us?

Teleios: Bible Study Methods to Grow Spiritually will transform your reading of scripture to inspiring and full of life. Based on Rick Warren's Bible Study Methods and part of our Faith Essentials series of classes, join us on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:45 EST as we seek to grow in our ability to encounter God in scripture at our Fairfax Station Campus (room 153) or online.
